Our Toddler Program

A place for growing curious, happy and confident toddlers

Our space is built for active and inquisitive toddlers with environments made up of well-planned learning centers that allow for physical activity, child choice and self-directed play, small groups, and supportive teaching. There are reading nooks, sensory tables, great books, pretend play areas, baskets filled with dress-up and exploratory materials, musical instruments, and places to explore.

Learning experiences are planned to promote each toddler’s growing independence, to enhance social skills, and to build the confidence needed to reach their individual potential.

Our Curriculum Components

Engaging opportunities for play and discovery.

Learning at Home

Snowman Making

You Will Need:

Snow, sticks, items to make a face (eyes, nose, mouth), hat, and gloves

Directions:

Before heading outside, make sure you and your child are dressed appropriately for the weather (jacket, boots, hat, gloves, etc.). Work with your child to make a snowman. Say things like, “Where do you think all this snow came from?”; “What does our snowman need?”; “Is it a boy or a girl?”; “What can we use to make his eyes?”; “Does he need a hat?”;  “Do we need a different hat for a boy?”; “Do we have enough snow to make a snowman as tall as you…or as tall as me? Let’s see!”; “Do we want to name him?”

Tip:

Talk about how cold you are. Check your child’s fingers frequently to be sure they are not too cold. Let your child make as many choices as possible in designing the snowman.
