You Will Need:
A cassette player, headphones (optional), audio tapes
Borrow books on tape from the library. Help your child put each tape into the cassette player and help her plug in the headphones, if available. Show her how to press “Play,” “Pause,” and “Stop” and have her listen to each book on tape. Discuss the stories she's listening to.
Many children enjoy the mechanics of cassette players and feel grown up wearing the headphones, but this activity can also work without the headphones. You and your child can listen to books on tape or books on CD in your car and discuss them together during your commute or any time you’re driving.
